Northern Costa Blanca

Costa Blanca - an ideal place...

The Costa Blanca is paradise situated in the heart of the Alicante coastline. It extends from the Mediterranean sea and is one of the most beautiful and colourful places in Spain.
The scenery makes it a wonderful place for living and holidays. Its beaches and coves are bathed in crystal clear water which contrasts with the greenness of its valleys and mountains. The almond and fruit groves, the grapevines, and magnificent palms give it its uniqueness.

The splendid roads throughout the area gives easy accessibility to any point national or international and the quality of services offered makes it one of the most sought after areas in Europe.

THE IDEAL PLACE FOR LIVING AND ENJOYING

We must agree that the Costa Blanca is the ideal place for living and enjoying with its scenery, traditions, fiestas, food and culture, etc.

Of all of the Costa Blanca the places that stand out are Denia, Orba and Jalon valley, as they are privileged areas to make a permanent or second home. Denia is one of the most important tourist centers of the Costa Blanca.

Its typical Mediterranean climate makes it unique with 20 km of coastline, Denia is a place to enjoy the sun, swimming, and for the more adventurous, all water sports.

The coastline consists of long sandy beaches and small rock coves sculptured by the sea. The marine life qualifies for its richness, and its beaches receive the “blue flags” awarded by the E.E.C.

The services offered in Denia are various restaurants, bars, coffee shops, discoteques, beach bars, etc.

Denia is also considered as the gastronomic center of the Costa Blanca. The delicious prawns, possibly the best in the world, the exquisite rice dishes, fish stews or mixed fish grill, are part of the gastronomic treasures on offer.

In the old part of the town there are numerous monuments. The varied architectural designs in the town shows the different civilizations that have lived there during the passing of time. One of the most important is the Islamic Castle, situated on a small hill overlooking the sea in the heart of the town. Also worth a visit are the various museums to understand the historical evolution of this area.

From the Cape of San Antonio and Las Rotas you can drive over the national park “Montgo” to Javea.

Denia offers an unlimited amount of Fiestas during the year, Fallas, Hogueras de San Juan, bulls in the sea, Moors and Christians, etc.

A lot of variety on offer which makes it unique.

Orba Valley

On the Costa Blanca only a few kilometers inland from the coast, you will find the spectacular Orba valley. This valley is known for its luxuriant greenness and mountains, combining with the luminous blue of the sky and sea. The ancient old agricultural traditions on the banks of the Mediterranean sea are still alive today in the Orba valley, with its orange, olive and almond groves.

There are various villages in the Orba valley: Benidoleig, Tormos, Sagra, Rafol, Benimeli, among others, small white sun bleached villages which stand out amongst the luscious greenness. The village of Valle de Laguart is know as the balcony of the valley due to its breathtaking views and it is also renowned for its old Arabic walking routes which are very well conserved.

In the center of the valley is ORBA, with approximately 1600 inhabitants, which offers, apart from its quaintness all types of services. Historically of Moorish origins, the town used to be one of the most important pottery centers and today you can still see some of the old ovens that were once used; also worth a mention are the church and bell tower in the main square.

The attraction today arises from its privileged situation, close to the coastal and tourist areas, but it conserves all the Mediterranean village character and lifestyle.

Jalón Valley

The Jalon valley also known as “Valle del Pop” is one of the most popular and admired places in the heart of the Costa Blanca. The villages that lend their name to the valley are: Murla, Benichembla, Parcent, Alcalali, Jalon and Lliber.

The villages all have in common the rural feeling and easy laid back lifestyle, excellent gastronomy, fiestas and above all the Jalon river that runs through the valley. This is an excellent place for outdoor activities such as walking, mountain biking, etc, joining with perfection the adventure and enjoyment of nature.

The valley has a combination of a never ending sea of vines and almond trees silhouetted amongst the surrounding mountains, with the exceptional climate, traditions, culture and excellent services, it makes it an ideal situation for settling.

Jalon is the main town in the valley and it is internationally renowned for its wines and sweet wine “Mistela” and also for its famous homemade sausages and desserts in which almonds play the leading part.

A must to visit is the famous “Rastro” antique fair held every Saturday and considered to be one of the most important of the Costa Blanca.
